Wood Badge for the 21st Century course offered in the Texas Southwest Council (formerly Concho Valley Council) was conducted in October 2010.  Now the first phase of Wood Badge 1 is complete and the participants are working on the second phase – working their ticket!

Please note that much of this site uses the old council name.

This past Saturday, we held the Wood Badge 1, 90 day Review meeting at Camp Sol Mayer.  It was great seeing all the folks that attended and hearing about the progress that everyone is making.  New photos added to the WB1 Photos page.

The Wood Badge 1 will hold its 90 day reunion on Saturday, January 29th at Camp Sol Mayer.  This is a great chance to get back together with the new patrols and the staff.

We will meet at 10 am in the dining hall.   After we meet as a troop for a short while the participants will break out into patrols to discuss the progress on their tickets with their troop guides.

We will provide some drinks and light snacks.  It is recommended that you bring a sack lunch.  We look forward to seeing you there!

This past Saturday the staff and participants of Wood Badge 1 came together for the first time for the Participant Orientation meeting at the Concho Valley Council offices in San Angelo, Texas.

The staff was pleased and grateful for the good turnout and very much enjoyed meeting many of the participants for the first time and learning about their roles in Scouting. We got a chance to hear from the group as we discussed the participants’ expectations coming into this course.

Information was shared about the paperwork, course schedule, uniforming, equipment and more. An email will be going out soon to each participant confirming that we have the correct information. Please respond to this quickly.

We must have the following paperwork quickly if you have not supplied it already:

• Registration Agreement (signed by you)
• Personal Resource Questionnaire (filled out by you)
• T-Shirt and Hat Order Form. (We need to know your size, even if you are not ordering extra items)
• BSA Medical Form (Parts A, B & C completed)

The staff of Wood Badge 1 met this past weekend at beautiful Camp Sol Mayer for a staff orientation and the first staff development meeting.  We had a great time and got a lot done as the staff came together.

The downloads page of this website now has links to the “Registration Agreement” as well as the “Personal Resource Questionnaire”.  More downloads will be coming soon!

The scoutmaster informs us that over 30 participants are registered for the course.  If you are thinking about join us, do it fast before the course fills up.  Space is reserved only when you pay so send in your fees as soon as possible.  Don’t miss your opportuinity to take this historic Wood Badge course in BSA’s centenial year!
